Space Shuttle Discovery Launches

Space Shuttle DiscoveryProbably the most expensive gadget ever featured on any gadgets blog anywhere on in the solar system, the space shuttle discovery launched this morning without incident from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. From CNN:

Discovery roared into orbit this morning, carrying the first U.S. crew to orbit on a U.S. spacecraft since the 2003 Columbia disaster. “Liftoff of space shuttle Discovery, beginning America’s new journey to the moon, Mars and beyond,” said George Diller, the voice of shuttle launch control.
