Joe Bruno is at the LinuxWorld Conference on behalf of The Inquirer and reports on this hot new toaster case mod, that runs embedded Linux/NetBSD. From Joe’s Inquirer article:
The board on the left is the computer that is INSIDE this toaster. It’s running BSD, and the guys at the show are happy to be playing with both the OS and tinkering with some toaster hardware. The toaster really did work, and didn’t overheat the CPU! Just for fun, they also had control of the LEDs on the toaster. The keyboard was separate, connected via USB.
Cool, but if it made coffee that would REALLY impress me.
