Smart Cars Attacked by Large Carnivores

So, remember when you were a kid and your folks took you to one of those ‘drive-thru’ safari places, and the funny monkeys climbed all over the car and that camel stuck his head in the window and freaked your mother out? Well, looks like things have changed.
Attendees to the Knowsley Safari Park in Merseyside, England are discovering that lions really don’t like Smart cars. I mean as in “I’m going to eat it” kind of don’t like.
Apparently, the tiny two-seater vehicles closely resemble the lions’ principal prey, like the antelope, gazelle and wildebeest. From an article at the Hindustan Times…
The Manager of the Park, David Ross, even cited the case of one couple visiting the park in their Smart car. When the lions approached their car, the driver sped up, upon which as many as three or four lions started chasing them.
“Let’s just say they got a little more of the African experience than they bargained for,” The Scotsman quoted Ross as saying, adding that the occupants were in no danger as he had checked the safety of the car before allowing it to pass into the park.
Geez, you try to be environmentally responsible and the freaking wildlife attacks you.
