Engadget has done a fantastic post today that takes a look back at the world of gadgets as they were in 1985. They’ve made the post look like an actual BBS site from back in the day, with ASCII headers and crummy quality images and it’s full of reviews of gadgets that we actually had back then.

They’re probably best known for their tires, but lately Finnish industrial conglomerate Nokia’s been making a big push into the wireless biz with its Mobira subsidiary (best of luck with that, Nokia!). Mobira just introduced its latest ultraportable cellphone, the Talkman (positively no relation to the Walkman, so don’t sue, ok, Sony?); clocking in at a mere 11 pounds, this bad boy will have you walking and talking in no time. Too heavy? Just have a junior exec carry it around for you!

You want to know the scary part? I actually remember all these gadgets! I used or played with many of them. Not only am I getting old, but apparently I’ve been a geek for quite a while as well.
