Hasselblad, that bad boy of killer photographic gear, is continuing its move into the digital world without giving up any of their stellar high standards, evidenced by their latest, the H2D.
The H2D is a fully-featured digital camera in the truest sense that starts out of the gate by being fully compatible with Hasselblad’s existing H system lenses. An optical format larger than 35mm and a high quality 22 MP CCD sensor measuring 37mm x 49mm are combined with the ultra bright ‘H-size’ viewfinder to enable superior image composition.
Three different storage options give the pro freedom and flexibility with choice of portable CF card storage, a flexible FireWire drive, or tethered operation with special capture controls. A partnership with Adobe makes this product fully compatible with Adobe’s raw image format DNG (‘Digital NeGative’). The DNG file format provides raw image files that can be opened directly in Adobe Photoshop CS allowing quick access to further processing abilities.
Gizmag has got an extensive overview of what else the H2D is capable of here and of course Hasselbald’s own site has full details of not just the H2D but the rest of their phenonenal products. Just don’t drool on your keyboard, okay?
