Apple Launches the iPod nano

Also announced today by big bad Stevie J was the new iPod nano from Apple. Great name, Steve! I can’t wait to hear/read all the nanoo-nanoo jokes and references for god knows how long.
Apparently, the iPod mini went missing off the Apple web store earlier today, so I assume that the nano is it’s replacement. I think it’s cool little unit. They’re going to offer two versions – a 2GB for $199 USD and a 4GB for $249 USD. nano of course refers to it’s diminutive size. It’s thinner than a pencil and measures just 3.5 x 1.6 inches face-on and weighs a feather-like 1.5 oz. Comes in black or white. Features a bright 1.5-inch color LCD display for showing full color album art or perusing up to 25,000 stored photos.
It uses the same 30-pin connector as the old iPods, which means it will work with the overly abundant collection of accessories that never seem to stop coming on the market. It’ll also charge/sync via USB.
In other news from the Stevie J show today was the announcement that there is a new version of iTunes coming soon, which will have a feature that, and I quote from this Gizmodo post…”allows you to change the randomness of your shuffles“…to apparently make them less, you know, random.
That concludes our Apple broadcasting day. Everyone may start making fresh new Apple rumors now. Thanks.
