From the ‘Go Big or Go Home‘ department, we have news from the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association show that just wrapped up in Indianapolis in the US. Krell, a company known for their expensive high fidelity equipment, has unveiled their new HEAT systems, aka the High End Audio Theater. If there was just one word to describe these set-ups, it would be staggering. Here’s a quick blurb from a MSNBC article on what these puppies pack…
It combines seven of their 450 watt, monaural Evolution One amplifiers with a pair of LAT-1000 tower speakers, an LAT-C1000 center speaker, four LAT-2000 bookshelf/surround speakers and two Master Reference Subwoofers.
All told, this monstrosity of home theater system nirvana packs 11,500 watts of 7.1 sound with a retail price of $344,500 USD. Yeah, you know you’ve got an audio/video obession when you’re gear costs more than your house!
Here’s the web site for Krell if you’re interested in finding something to do with that lottery money you just won or you just like to drool on your keyboard.
