Denmark’s high end electronics firm Bang&Olufsen and South Korea’s Samsung are teaming up to offer a mobile phone that incorporates B&O’s renowned design and audio quality.

Bang&Olafsen is going to do something innovative with their design in that the phones will have just basic communications features and little in the way of high-tech extras. A bit of a refreshing approach in my mind. Silly me, I like a phone that just simply makes phone calls.

The phones are expected to be released throughout Europe before the end of the year. No word on whether they’re looking at marketing to North America or Asia, and as the Bang&Olafsen CEO states in this Reuters article, they are targeting the high end of the market in terms of price. No surprise there.
