This is neat. LG in Korea has announced the release of the GSA-4166B, which is a DVD burner for desktop systems that in addition to being able to burn in every format (including RAM and DL), also has a LightScribe function.
What is a LightScribe function, you ask? Well, it’s the technology that allows you to burn an image on to the top side of the disc. How cool is that? So, presumably, one can burn their pirated movie, I mean home video, and then have some cool artwork inscribed on to the disc as well.
Unfortunately, I picked this up from Akihabara News again, so it may be one of those Asia-only products for now. The only link from the Akihabara post goes to LG’s Korean site, which is of course, all in Korean.
