Here’s a cool how to project, especially if you’re one who’s out and about in the wilds quite often and can’t go without your Britney for too long. Mark, from the Netherlands, is the man behind the build log on how to hook up a hand-cranked flashlight to your iPod for the purposes of recharging.
Mark makes use of a perfectmate dynamo flashlight. While these are available in Holland, similar models should be obtainable elsewhere on the globe, just make sure it’s the type that comes with a socket for charging a mobile phone. It’s this socket that Mark uses to achieve energy transfer to his iPod.
Please pay close attention to Mark’s disclaimer on his build log…”This setup worked for me, but I really can not tell you or guarantee you this will work for you also…you are risking your ipod with this!!!” Consider yourself warned.
Here’s the page with the full details.
