Check this out! I’ve got absolutely no hope in hell of ever convincing the wife to let me put on of these in the living room, but if I can ever afford one of these, I’m going to try!
It’s the IndyCar Series Simulator, available though US uber-retailer Neiman Marcus. The sim is an actual life-sized replica of the 2005 Indy 500 winning car driven by Dan Wheldon and features a flat-screen monitor with stand, the IndyCar Series 2005 video game, and all the related electronics so you can go vroom vroom to your heart’s content.
Now, in addition to the sim itself, Neiman Marcus is also offering an optional add-on hospitality package for two to the 2006 Indy race which includes the following…
…round-trip airfare, hotel (four nights), ground transportation and parking for the weekend, credentials and pit access, VIP seating, the chance to meet Tony George, CEO of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway® and the Indy Racing League®, IndyCar Series drivers, a behind-the-scenes tour of the ABC® broadcast compound with ABC Sports on-air celebrities, and tickets to the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race victory celebration, plus food, beverages, and autographed IndyCar series merchandise PLUS a ride in the IndyCar Series two-seater with the white-knuckle speed and 3+ G-force that only professional drivers have experienced.
The sim itself is a bargain at $65,000 USD and the add-on hospitalty package for Indy 2006 is just $10,000 USD more. Here’s the web page from the Neiman Marcus catalog.
Honey! I know what I want for Christmas!
