Red Green Remote Control Mod

Do you know who Red Green is? Anyway, the people over at Lifehacker seem to have come up with an ingenious way to ensure that your remote controls never get lost again. Here’s the short and curly’s of the Lifehacker Remote Control Duct Tape Tail Mod:
You’ll want to keep the tail about 18” long, so measure out about 40” of duct tape. Attach the first end to the bottom of your remote, below the lowest button. Carefully loop the duct tape in half, folding it carefully as you attach it to itself. There should be an inch or two left at the top after folding to complete the attachment to the remote. If space permits, add an additional “belt” of tape where the tail meets the remote.
The ultra-sticky, bright red Tuck Tape would also do the trick.

We use the red sticky tape on ours, except instead of making a tail, we tape a tennis ball to the back of the remote, which makes it impossible for the remote to slip in between couch cushions, etc. The red tape makes the remotes readily (no pun intended)visible no matter where they’re at in the living room. It works out better for me than the tail would.
