Well folks, you wanted a more interactive iPod and Apple didn’t deliver, but the makers of the iDog certainly did. Here’s what Cary over at Church Of The iPod says about the iDog:

iPod related toys are expected to be the big seller this Christmas season, and from what I can gather, this cute little robotic version of man’s best friend may well be at the head of the pack. Apparently, your kids can just plug an iPod into the i-Dog’s side-port and then groove to their favorite tunes through the speaker on it’s back! The tail even works as a toggle to turn off the speaker (God bless the people who designed this thing!) and even when the speaker’s off your children can still listen through their headphones, all while the i-Dog rocks out with flashing lights, LED animation, and body movements that change based on the “mood” of the music they’re listening too.

Hasbro’s iDog iPod dock/robotic dog is for kids 8 years and up and you can grab yours (or one to keep the kiddies amused) online at Amazon.com or your nearest Toys’R Us store.
