mach 10.x, virtual vizor viewA company in Palmdale California, 2GeeksinaLab, has just released details of a new software called Mach 10.X that they claim can boost the speed and operating efficiency of any windows based operating system by up to 40 times. Mach 10.X appears to be aimed at the mobile computing and hand-held gaming markets.

Mach 10.X™ technology will lead to the fastest and smallest video game systems in the world - with incredible enhancements to video game animation and graphics.

Also on the 2GeeksinaLab roster is a miniature computer with a “Virtual Vizor” instead of a normal viewscreen:

Virtual Vizor™ is the future of personal computers. With the help of Mach 10.X™, Virtual Vizor™ offers consumers a pocket-sized computer that functions 40 times faster than current desktop computers; contains an operating system, program files, and video games; and is small enough to take everywhere the consumer goes. A pair of high-tech glasses worn by the user will project an opaque “virtual image” of a computer screen, visible only to the person wearing the vizor, while still allowing the wearer to see and interact with the world around them.

The user’s hands will be used to navigate the desktop, much like dual mice. Additionally, the user can pull up a “virtual keyboard” and begin typing in applications such as Word, Excel, or Outlook Express. Wireless Internet access by satellite will give users the ability to play games, surf the web, check email, and pay bills online, - all while they’re on-the-go! Products are scheduled for a spring 2006 release.
