Samsung M70 Desktop /Laptop HybridSamsung has released (is releasing??) a new laptop /desktop hybrid over in Korea. Details are sketchy for us Asian language challenged rednecks but Ahihabara News has been kind enough to provide a few details on the Samsung M70, including the following:

When it comes to specs, we get the following: 19″ WSXGA+ (1680×1050) HDTV compatible screen, Pentium M770 (2.13GHz) CPU, 1Gb of DDR 533MHz RAM, 100Gb HDD, Wireless LAN, …

My opinion? Upside: Great concept in that the monitor can be unhooked from the unit and any sized monitor, up to (some) larger plasma TV’s can be used for display. It can also be used in different configurations for even greater versitility.

Downside: Decreased portability so one can’t really consider it a true laptop. Starbucks and other coffee shop denziens, or hernia-prone mobile computing freaks may be better off going with a more compact model.

Kudos to Samsung for innovation and micro-market penetration on the M70 though.
