Check out the size of the xBox 360 power supply pictured here. It’s almost as big as the xBox 360 itself!
According to UberGizmo:
Representatives have laid claim that these leaked pictures of the power supply is just a prototype, but it could just be a lame attempt at minimizing the potential damage.
I guess external power supplies serve a few different purposes, like keeping the size of the units small, keeping them cool and internationally friendly by being able to have different power supplies for different countries, but the size of that thing is just rediculous. Lets hope the production ones are a little more compact.

4Silly silly people, the Xbox 360 is very cleaver the power risistiors is all inside the powersupply and the xbox 360s sound varies as the fans slow and speed up to meet the cooling requirements
