Looking for a monster hard disk to replace that wimpy 40 giger? The Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 – 500GB Hard Disk (read, that’s a half terabyte) uses a 4 platter configuration and has an internal 16MB cache.
Speed is still the standard 7200rpm, but along with an adequate 300mb/sec transfer rate and Native Command Queuing which transfers data more quickly between hard drive and processor, this baby only has 8.1W power consumption, and uses ClickConnect to prevent your SATA cable from shaking loose under heavy use.
So what does all this mean? The Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 is really big, and really fast.
