Germany is the beer country as we all know it… and that attribute contributes to the creation of gadgets related to drinks. With that said, the project of some students in the final year of a computer related course in Germany, is a Robotic Bartender.

OK, robots serving drinks, I guess that means no more bartender jokes… not really true. This robot is a step ahead of any other because it actually tell jokes when serving the drinks. It understands verbal orders as well and has many cocktail recipes in the memory.

The computer linguistics course was run by University of Saarland professors Manfred Pinkal and Hans Uszkoreit and involved the students creating a speaking robot in just six weeks.

I wonder if he can also do all the cool tricks that real bartenders do, probably not but it shouldn’t be too hard to teach him that.
