It wouldn’t be fair to mention the latest Firebox release and not talk about its competitor, Internet Explorer.
Well, Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 was released 3 days ago and has generated some buzz. Adopting some tools and features from Firebox and other Mozilla based browsers is a good option, and the security issue (which was one of the biggest downfalls for IE) is suppose to be better too.
Most notable new features: tabbed browsing, built-in search box and new interface.
Take note:
- It still doesn’t render properly, but that’s a problem suppose to be fixed when the real version comes out (not beta).
- Read the Known Issues before claiming you found a bug.
- There is also a developer tool bar that wasn’t working right, a new one was made which is compatible with the latest IEs - available for download
- Read a good review with many screen shots of the program in use - at www.joshkagan.com
- According to this site, IE7 claims that www.gov.il (Israel Government site) is a suspicious website = a potential phisher. Check it out with a screen shot
- IE7 also has a blog about the development and related news, the latest post is about a CSS Zen Garden entry - looking good.
- Here is a bonus: check this awesome IE7 page - www.ie7.com
- Finally, download IE7 Beta 2
