There are a couple of ways to have a nice sound setup in the living room and not having wires from the 5 columns all over the place, the sound projector from Yamaha - YPS-1000 - is one of those options.
It’s one piece only offering 5 ways of surround sound, how? Using the walls to reflect sound, interesting. The fake disadvantage of being 1 box only comes in weight and size, corresponding to 13kgs and 1 meter, but since it’s easy adoptable to work in size with big TVs it’s not a real disadvantage.
i4u has a review of the Yamaha YPS-1000 and in terms of performance, this is what they have to say:
The sound is crystal clear and I can experience the spatial located sounds. At first its kind of magic as I just look at the box in front of me. But the sound is coming from the side. Did I mention I am sitting in front of a 106 inch screen? Life is good.
