Guide for a successful modern-hippe party (at home) using gadgets

So, with no experience at all to create Modern-Hippe parties, I found some stuff that should be a good start to light up that party at your house.

Guitar Neon Sign

1. The first gadget would be the Guitar neon-sign to give the hippie music feeling. If you would like to get more neon-signs, there are other shapes like the Cocktail Glass that also has the hippies in mind. Route66 and Flamingo are the other 2 signs available.

2. The next thing we need is an element to increase the sensations and to get that rolling I picked a Bubble Machine with 25W of power. You’ll have bubbles till the end of days, but make sure to pick the right liquid or else the bubbles will be awful.

3. One of the most important elements in a party are the glasses, and the drinking. A normal glass wouldn’t make justice for such a good party, but a flashing Shot-Glass with a red LED light is perfect.
To make the light work you’ll need to bang the glass on a table and the effect will last 10 seconds. I guess the plan is something like: drink a shot, bang the glass, stare at the glass and hallucinate.

4. To give the house another “feeling”, to change the atmosphere of the spot you will need a big plasma that transmits orange lights. Consider it as an add-on to trip yourself and hallucinate even more. True hippie style if you know what I’m saying…

5. The final touch has to be personalized, an original approach will make your 4 stars party become a 5 stars party hit. The programmable LED Badge is here for a reason, create your message to the visitors that will make them feel good, and mark it down: this badge only allows 50 characters; make it a short but useful message =]

That’s it, those are my tips for a good modern hippie party, of course you can change the name from moder hippie to something else and the gadgets will serve as well.

Get a clue about hippies and what it means to be a hippie. Maybe enlighten yourself by reading the first paragraph in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippie)

i’m only writing coz i get your feed and i get a lot of mixed (most often rid with spelling/grammar errors) reviews, some are fun and worth the read and some are, like this one, just annoying.

don’t take it personally, i want to keep subscribed to your list but i also want the quality to improve.

Well, this was suppose to be a fun post and not an annoying one.

Maybe what I wrote doesn’t have anything to do with hippies – that’s why in the end of the post you read that the “modern hippie” words could be replaced for something else, and the final result would be the same ;p It was just the first word that crossed my mind when I was looking at the Rocking Stone Trading products.

Maybe a techno party would be a better topic for this.

I’ll try to improve the quality even more, what more would you like to see at Gadgetizer? Any suggestions and criticism are welcome.

hmm dunno.. maybe more suitable for a geek party? hehe ;)

i know everyone has different tastes and that’s great, i dig the diversity of gadgets you find, though it sometimes feels like some of the articles are paid-for advertisements… which if is true, doesnt matter, you gotta pay the bills somehow! =)

Anyways, when i personally think of a “gadget”, i think current technology which doesn’t mean bleeding edge but at least relatively new. This immediately eliminates things like gold club monogrammers, neon signs and LED name-tags ;)
