April 5, 2006 | In: Breaking News, Internet, Open Source

Good news!
In March 2006, Firefox was the browser of choice used by 10% of the web population. This percentage is slowly growing, and Firefox is stealing users from the giant Microsoft browser – Internet Explorer.
*With a strong feature set, aggressive product development cycle, open source platform and by offering the browser for free, Firefox has the strategy in place to maintain its growth
The standings are like this:
1. Internet Explorer – 84,7%
2. Firefox – 10,05%
3. Safari – 3,19% (for Macs only)
4. Netscape – 1,05%
5. Opera – 0,54%
6. Mozilla – 0,34%
Take note:
- Results provided by NetApplications
- The new Internet Explorer 7 might be a good way for Microsoft to gain some users, or at least don’t lose more fans.
