Virtual Sightseeing by YDreams
May 23, 2006 | In: General

The Virtual Sightseeing made by YDreams is suppose to be a replacement for the binoculars seen at the most common touristic spots.
A combination of high-tech and Augmented Reality (whatever that is) results in a device that is able to show 3D graphics, real images, multimedia content (and more) of a specific historic or monumental place.
For now it’s only available in Portugal, at Pinhel castle, but YDreams is thinking of expanding the business to other countries.
Take note
Two exclusive features of the Virtual Sightseeing that caught my attention:
1. Selecting optimal routes or paths for hikes or walking tours in the surrounding area
2. Interactive simulations or animated re-enactments of historic events
More information at the YDreams Virtual Sightseeing website – there is a demo too.
