Amazon recently launched their online video store called Unbox, they offer plenty of movies and TV shows that can be either downloaded or rented. The prices start from $1.99 to buy download a tv show, or from $7.99 to $14.99 for a movie, as for the rental prices – it costs $3.99.
It offers DVD-quality downloads, triple the video quality of the leading rivals, and a free downsized version for some Microsoft Windows-compatible portable devices. The videos also can be viewed starting in as little as five minutes, while the rest of the movie continues to download. And unlike with other services, they can be downloaded to multiple personal computers.
One thing that worries me about the movie rentals is that from the moment the “play” button is pressed, you must watch the movie on the following 24 hours, or else – rent again.
Check the Amazon Unbox – Video Downloads website for more info. There is a promotion for the first purchase which is a $1.99 rebate, that means one free TV show download.
