RemoteXT makes UK Cellphones Scream when Stolen

RemoteXT makes UK Cellphones ScreamRemote XT, a new cellphone data backup and security service operating out of London makes your cellphone scream when stolen.

The service backs up your data, like phone book and text messages, at a central location. When that Remote XT service is called for retrieval of the data, the stolen phone screams, even when the simm card is removed. The only way to stop the screaming is for a thief to remove the battery, so the phone is useless.

Should be a good deterrant to cellphone theft. From the Remote XT site:

Complete lock of your phone if it is stolen or lost. Your phone is totally locked, regardless of your network, is is useless even if the SIM card is removed. And the phone sounds an ear-splitting alarm – click on the button below to hear the alarm.
