Wikipedia China

It’s good to know that the Chinese Wikipedia website is available once again to its enormous internet population, this time the website doesn’t have any blockings made by the authorities.

So, after one year (ban started on October 2005) of blocking the access to the web encyclopedia due to various political reasons, the Chinese population can say hurrrayyy! – the ones accessing wikipedia by using proxies don’t have to say hurray – and can start editing/creating some controversial wiki entries.

Jiang Yu – spokeswoman from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, comments:

We manage the Internet according to our laws and regulations. This is the usual practice for all the countries in the world
