Using Email as a communication method might not be as simple as it looks, at least if you want to do it right.

There is a whole set of rules and a general etiquette that you are suppose to follow when it comes to Emails, most internet users don’t know have an idea what I’m talking about but the savy-tech-personas know this for granted.

The folks at ITSecurity have made a list with 99 tips related to Email Security and Productivity, it is divided into 7 categories and covers the following topics:

Besides popular “rules” like chain letters; use of the BCC field; good titles; and others, the article is full of good information that will teach you how to use e-mail properly. Here are 2 tips that everyone should already know:

- Use smileys. If you think that something you’ve written might be misunderstood in tone or emotion, use the appropriate smiley. It should be obvious, but this tip does not apply to work or other professional emails

- Don’t use email when you are angry
