Just after the Immunity for bloggers post that I wrote yesterday (which gave the idea that blog writers have some kind of liberty to write and are safe of being the target of stupid laws, at least on the USA) comes some bad news from Egypt.
Basically, the freedom of speech is not a common word in Egypt, therefore the Police arrested a blogger (Rami Siyam) that criticized the Egyptian government on his blog.
It is not the first time this critical situation happens with bloggers on Egypt, earlier on the 6th of November another internet user and blogger – Abel Karrem Nabil – was “detained” for disrupting public order, inciting religious hatred and defaming the president.
I wonder if the same thing will happen if I defame the Portuguese President – Cavaco Silva – by making fun of his voice and expressions among other things. Probably not because they are never going to read this but seriously, check it yourself and watch this video to see how a pudding head looks like.
