Around one week ago I talked about the Wikipedia Chinese version becoming available on China after a one year ban because of political reasons and wiki entries with unwanted content, but it seems like the ban is up again and the Chinese population can’t access Wikipedia.
This first symptoms of the second ban situation started last week and on Friday it was confirmed by many users that the site was unaccessible, including Andrew Lih, a researcher writing a book about Wikipedia.
On another note, the Wikipedia success on China is was good as the following comment confirms:
Lih said earlier the number of new registered users on the Chinese version of Wikipedia had jumped in the past week to an average of 1,200-1,300 a day — more than a threefold increase from 300-400 a day
