The daily copyright infringements made by the giant YouTube are not new, they have received a good deal of complaints and day by day there are videos being removed because of the copyrights.

Of course YouTube uses the classic excuse that the users are the trouble makers and get away with it, but recently a senior executive from Walt Disney expressed her opinion about this issue.

Anne Sweeney, comments:

It’s not efficient and I think there is a larger conversation to be had. But this is the world we are living in. This is the reality.

Basically the problem is that community sites like YouTube, MySpace, Hi5, Orkut (and the rest) give users the capability to upload whatever data (video or images) they want, and it is hard to check if all the uploaded content is legal. On the meanwhile the giant websites have no fear of lawsuits which are rarely seen, so this copyright infringement madness is here to stay for some time…
