Code Jam On Latin America

I already talked about the Code Jam during the summer of 2006, at that time it was a worldwide contest but this time the Jam is only directed for the people located in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In case you are not familiar with this Code Jam Project here is a small description:

A timed online competition between the region’s most talented coders. Pick your programming language, use your coding skills to solve a series of problems, and compete for R$75,000 in prizes – and the respect of your peers.

If I’m not mistaken the prize is announced in the Brazillian currency – Real – with the 1st prize being R$6,000 (close to $2,800USD).

The registration closes on January 23 so make sure to register now if you are a coding guru. One of the good things about this contest is that if you end up on the top 50 there is an all-expenses-paid trip to the Google Brazilian Engineering Office in Belo Horizonte to compete in the finals.
