I’m 99% sure that World of Warcraft is the most famous online game, but at the same time I am 100% sure that it is the game with the biggest amount of players, just think that 8 million people play WoW and that makes it up for 0,1% of the world wide population – it drives me crazy.
Here are some numbers related to the game:
- 3.5 million Chinese players
- 1.5 million European players
- the rest 3 million are spread to the USA and the rest of the world
- US players pay $15 per month, if they play for one year that is $180 per each player
- Europeans pay €13 per month (close to $16), which makes a total of $192
- Just for monthly subscription values Blizzard must be making like… a ton of money.
