The big brother of the internet a.k.a. Google has been fighting over the chinese domain version of their webmail service also known as Gmail.
The chinese domain which is located at – www.gmail.cn – is registered by ISM Technologies and they are refusing to sell it.
The Chinese company is also an Internet service provider which provides mail services, and Gmail can literally just be referring to a 1G mailbox or something like that
Interestingly enough their logo is kind of similar to Google when taking in consideration the colors used in each letter. This can make non-experienced users have the wrong feeling about the site and think they are accessing google, but I guess that doesn’t happen often. So far there is no information if Google will start the suing festival.
On other news Google still has to take care of other Gmail domain versions, more specifically:
- The Polish version – www.gmail.pl – owned by a group of poets
- The German version – www.gmail.de
- The Spanish version – www.gmail.es
