Pay Burgers With Your Mobile Phone

McDonalds

  • It is not any burger that can be paid via your mobile phone, only in McDonalds.
  • You can’t do this innovative action of buying food without real money everywhere, only in Japan.

According to BBC this new system will be implemented in the near future and the fortunate Japanese mobile phone operator that will work in coordination with McDonals is the popular Docomo.

I bet it is a good feeling of entering McDonalds and taking the cellphone out of the pocket to get a Cheese Burger, if only this new system was available elsewhere besides the Asian market…

Julie Ask, analyst of Jupiter (a company, not the planet) comments:

It gives both McDonald’s and DoCoMo the opportunity to track consumers and their eating habits. Cash is more likely to be used in small transactions. Electronic payments will allow user behaviour to be tracked and used for marketing purposes.
