South Korean Prostitutes Use (mostly) The Internet To Get Clients
The Internet is the most used way for prostitutes on South Korea to get clients, according to Folha Online the numbers for this kind of activity are pretty high:
- 96% of the 236 South Korean prostitutes arrested on 2006 used the internet to arrange “meetings”
- 85% of them are between 15 and 18 years old
- other details don’t matter
Just take in consideration that the online population of South Korea connected to the net is of 34,1 million. Now imagine how easy it must be for a prostitute to arrange a meeting and more clients on the world wide web.
I wonder what techniques they use… ads on special sites? IRC or other types of instant messengers? Social networks? Yahoo game room chats? It is hard to count all the options they got…
