As if banning the creation of internet cafes during 2007 in China is not good enough, another level of security has been created lately – blocking the access to the famous blogging service called LiveJournal.
It is not the first time this kind of action is taken by the Chinese authorities, remember Wikipedia getting blocked as well? Actually it is not the first time LiveJournal gets a Chinese ban, it has happened before and eventually they got unbanned but with no information of why/when provided by the censorship people.
Reports say that the GreatFirewallOfChina – website that controls the site blocks made by China – has only detected this recent ban on Friday.
The site’s block could be the result of a single blog with content that China’s Communist regime finds objectionable.
The reason for the LiveJournal ban seems to be the upcoming meeting “National People’s Congress”, in this event there is a great amount of dedication to the internet censorship policies and whatnot…
