Corsair Flash Voyager GT

I already talked about the Corsair Flash Voyager when it was first released a few months ago, but since the flash drive has been reviewed at E-USB it makes all the sense in the world to talk about it again.

So what are the important points on this review?

  • the design/appearance when compared to other flash drives is not good, but the focus went on performance instead of looks which is what matters for most people
  • the “outside” material is rubber and attracts dust, lint, and oils depending where you place it
  • read/write speeds better than average
  • very durable, it passed tests such as being on the laundry machine or being contemplated with big impacts like falls from the roof, sadly it didn’t pass the ultimate test which was running it over a Element and its 3500-pound curb weight

The Recap:

The file transfer speed is unmatched and the endurance factor of the drive is well beyond that of your typical flash drive, although it didn’t totally survive the SUV crush test. With the bundled USB cable and thick lanyard, the Flash Voyager GT makes one heck of a package deal that’s well worth the money and deserving of my high recommendation.
