Netcabo Spamming

Here is a story about my ISP – Netcabo – abusing me and a lot of other clients:

Imagine you are surfing the web just visiting some sites like usual, suddenly after typing a URL an unsolicited frame appears instead of the site you are trying to see.

That frame displays information related to your Internet Service Provider and their new campaign – check the screenshot.

You think – WTF! How did this get in here…

You press the “close” button located on the frame but it reloads with the same content, and you still can’t see the website you wanted.

OK, so the plan is try to visit another site, but the connection is so slow due to those frames/bulletins that nothing can be done.

For half an hour or more surfing on the web becomes impossible, but what bothers me the most is the way they spammed me. The final result is a very frustrating situation for all Netcabo clients…

I wonder if this is even legal? A new kind of spam from ISPs? Does this happen in Portugal only, or in other countries as well?

Over in the US this would not happen. Not because its illegal but anyone in there right mine would just switch ISP’s

If they continue to do this I can (and will) switch ISPs easily, it is the first time it happened to me.
