Talking Foreign Phrase Books For Mobile Phones
May 1, 2007 | In: Cellular Phones, General

The UK based company LastMinute has launched a new service that makes it easy for all the people to talk foreign languages with the help of a mobile phone + talking phrase books.
How does it work:
Using lastminute.com’s intuitive application you can search quickly and simply for a phrase in English and press ‘select’. Your mobile phone then speaks the phrase in the foreign language with a real ‘native’ accent and provides an additional text translation on your screen.
The phrase books are available in 6 languages – French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish – each one costs £3 which is close to $6. To download the desired phrasebook to a cellphone just send a SMS to a specific number (60999) and in a matter of minutes you can start speaking Portuguese like me!
Mark McCulloch, from LastMinute, comments:
It also helps with your pronunciation and ensures you are understood, which will hopefully put an end to being embarrassed to try out your language skills when on holiday and help you have a more enriching holiday experience.
