World Record For Highest Mobile Call
May 14, 2007 | In: Cellular Phones, General

Beating world records can be a kind of paranoia for some people, so just imagine what folks are capable of doing to achieve a record – making the highest mobile call from Mount Everest is what Rod Baber wants to do.
You are probably thinking it is impossible to get a good (network) signal reception while standing on top of Everest to make a phone call, but this is possible thanks to a base station installed in nearby China that has line-of-sight to the north ridge of the mountain.
The hero – Rod Baber – has plans to start the final step of the expedition tomorrow (15 May) and climbing all the way to the top will take 8 days. Lets hope he doesn’t forget to charge the cellphone…
