DAV-X10 is the name of the new home receiver made by Sony which was announced today. It presents some interesting characteristics, such as only having 2 speakers + 1 subwoofer and being able to offer 480W of “sound power”. This big number is achieved thanks to the S-Force Pro, a virtual surround technique.

HDMI routing ensures that the device can both accept surround sound built into HD sources and upscale video from lower-resolution DVD and TV sources up to either 720p or 1080i.

Sony customers who already purchased the Sony Bravia TV, can use the special HDMI linkup to have control of the receiver. The other interesting option is a bluetooth adapter that is able to stream audio from other devices (cellphones or computers) directly into the DAV-X10.
