Sharp has announced two new Blu-ray recorders on the AQUOS series, the BD-AV1 and BD-AV10. Priced at $865 and $1,040 respectively, the recorders will hit the shelves on the end of October, at least on the Asian market.
The difference in price between the two models is caused by the dual-layer recording that can be seen on the BD-AVI10 recorder. Other than that, the BD-AVI1 and BD-AV10 have a FireWire port as a connectivity mode, a HDMI port, a TV tuner, and last but not least - plain old composite ports to accommodate your older gear.
They will be available in at least 4 different colors: white, black, gray and red.
