Audio 610 USB – Plantronics headset for internet calls
November 6, 2007 | In: Headsets

Plantronics, a popular manufacturer of headsets, have come up with another product called Audio 610 USB that marks the difference from the rest by having 2 features that I consider special:
- instead of using the normal 3.5mm headset jack to connect to the computer, much like 85% of the headsets in the market do, it has a USB interface. Of course that the old-school analog ports are also included.
- it is specially made for internet calls, that is the reason why it is mono instead of stereo, and has a microphone.
As always, other features that are normally seen in headsets are part of the deal as well, such as a useful noise-canceling detail for the mic, and ear cushions that can be adjusted thanks to the swivel function.

I got one of these for my wife. She’s a big fan, great sound quality for both listener and the person she’s talking with. She likes the fact that it leaves her hands free for typing or writing. Personally I would prefer one that was stereo so that it sounds a bit better when I’m listening to music but all in all a very useful bit of kit!
