Rogers Wireless presents Voicemail to Text service
December 11, 2007 | In: Cellular Phones

Rogers Wireless, in Canada, has come up with an interesting way to make life easier for the people that for some reason can’t take many calls, and always leave it to the Voicemail to get the important messages.
Their new service is called “Voicemail to Text” and is being run in cooperation with Spinvox. As the name of the service suggests, it basically transforms voicemail messages, into text messages. So instead of listening to the voicemail when you can’t answer calls, you can at least read the SMS messages that are sent to your cellphone.
The service really saves users time because it eliminates the need to dial-in to pick up voicemail. Instead, a transcript of the voicemail message is relayed via text so users can simply read the message wherever they are.
Priced at $15 per month with the first month for free, but for now it is only available in a few provinces, like Ontario and Québec. In 2008, the service will get started in other Canadian spots, such as Alberta and Manitoba.
