Dell releases Inspiron 1526 notebook
February 18, 2008 | In: Laptops Notebooks
On the market of laptops, one of the latest bets is made by Dell on the Inspiron 1526. The notebook has a $750 price tag (after savings) and for now it is available online at Best Buy.
We’re not talking about a mini-notebook anymore, like the Kojinsha E8, so the specs are obviously better. The processor is powered by AMD, more specifically a Turion 64 X2 running at 2GHz. The RAM memory can be upgraded to a maximum of 4GB, but the standard is 2GB – not bad.
The Inspiron 1526 is on the 15.4-inch display category, and its list of goodies includes a 2-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 4 USB ports, and much more. Thanks to the 8-in-1 media card reader and the Firewire port, it will become much easier to transfer files from your videocam/digicam to the computer.
The laptop comes in seven different colors and runs Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.

I just bought the 1526 yesterday, and I have to say that I am very impressed so far. I don’t think that you can beat the cost/feature balance that this laptop gives you. I upgraded from an earlier Dell Inspiron, and I’m very happy with the performance thus far especially compared to the earlier versions that I’ve had.
And I dont think that Vista is as bad as some people make it out to be – i guess check back in about 6 months and see if my tune has changed, but I am a fan at this point

[...] Inspiron 1526 no puede competir en portabilidad contra equipos como los recientes MacBook Air o Lenovo ThinkPad X300 por sus 2.7Kg de peso, pero si puede resultar muy interesante para otro tipo [...]
