Gmail Location Signature Enables Valentine’s Day Stalking

gmail-location-signature.jpgGoogle is apparently obsessing right now over location-based gadgets.

First the company gave us Latitude, a pal-tracking service that allowed you to plot out your location from a GPS-enabled mobile on Google Maps so you could keep up with where your friends were.

Now, Google is throwing us yet another application for tracking, or as we’re starting to believe, stalking.  Gmail’s new location signature app will allow users to give their geographical details from their personal email signature.

So if you told mom you were headed for Switzerland and send her an email from Bora Bora, chances are you’re gonna be grounded after Spring Break.

Gmail’s signature application will not be automatically installed, so check your signature preferences in order to let those exes know where to show up Valentine’s Day.
