August 12, 2009 | In: Microsoft
U.S. District Court Judge Leonard Davis of Eastern Texas is making history. The judge has effectively placed a ban on any Microsoft Word sales following a patent infringement suit.
The case was brought to court by Canadian company i4i who holds several XML-related patents and claims that Microsoft is their product.
As of right now Microsoft is being required to pay around $165,000 per day, “from May 21sto to August 11th, for pre-judgment interest and post-verdict damages.”
Wow. I guess there goes Bill’s 694,763,248 car. And the name is surely a bad sign, right? An i for an i….
