According to the folks over at Macworld and TUAW, the next generation of the iPod touch really is faster.
Boot times have gone from an average of 31 to 19 seconds, while web page loading went 34 to 15 seconds. App loading has sped up as well with time reductions all across the board. All in all, the new iPod Touch is around 50% faster in all regards.
