Hearst Publications Heads To iTunes Store

May 5, 2011 | In: Apple, ipad

The publishing house behind the likes of Esquire and Popular Mechanics will be heading to Apple’s iTunes Store with a new deal that’s just been finalized.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Hearst Publications has finalized the digital deal with Apple very recently at that the company will start selling their iPad magazine versions starting this July.

Prices start at $1.99 a month per magazine, with a year’s subscription for $19.99.  Hearst is making waves being the very first major magazine publisher to sell digital copies through iTunes.

Sigh, the dawning of the new digital age continues to dawn as we miss the smell and feel of newsprint.
