Activision To Announce New Call of Duty Game?
May 9, 2011 | In: video games
If you believe the rumors and the hype on line, Activision will soon be announcing a new Call of Duty game and the word on the street is that this one isn’t going to be another in a long line of single player installments.
The next CoD game is rumored to be an online-only installment of the series that will run on a Free-to-Play model very similar to Battlefield Play4Free.
If CoD’s massive fanbase is anything to go by, the online version of the game should be a hit from the get go – provided that Activation pulls it off correctly. After all, EA has publicly challenged CoD by saying that Battlefield 3 is superior in every way – it’s only fair if EA brings the battle onto their turf. Well like all rumors, take it with a pinch of salt. Next week is on its way anyway, and we shouldn’t have to wait too long if it turns out to be true.
The game is being tentatively called Call of Duty online and so far no one is really jumping up and down about this one. What are your thoughts?
